Which one of the following(9 more words not shown)

Reading the passage

A is about honeybee communication throughout. B uses honeybees as one example of a broader idea: some animals communicate symbolically. That gives us a clean relationship to look for—one account concentrates on a phenomenon that the other places within a larger discussion.

Working the answers

  • A

Both writers reject the proposed dependence on food-source odors. B reports that proposal and then says it is not so; reporting a view does not make it the writer's own position for A to reject.

  • B

The direction is wrong. A concentrates on honeybees, whereas B offers multiple animal examples. The several researchers in A are investigating the same phenomenon, not supplying the contrast this choice describes.

  • C
    Correct

Honeybee communication is A's entire subject. In B, the bee's symbolic dance supports the more general claim about symbolic communication among animals, alongside the vervet calls. The narrower subject fits within the broader one.

  • D

B does not say honeybee communication cannot be explained. It describes the information conveyed by the dance and the studies that illuminate it. There is no unexplained-in-principle position here.

  • E

A gives a history of scientific investigation, not the evolutionary origin of the dance itself. Aristotle's observation tells us that people noticed the behavior long ago; it does not tell us when or how bees first developed it. B's concern is also broader than that single phenomenon.
