Which one of the following(16 more words not shown)

Reading the passage

Intertribalism means something crossing tribal boundaries. My first picture is members of different tribes gathering and sharing practices. We need to see which situation has that connection between tribes.

Working the answers

  • A

This is a dispute within one tribe. Nothing connects it to another tribe.

  • B
    Correct

Members of one tribe are learning the languages of several other tribes. That's borrowing across tribal lines, like the sharing of dances and songs described earlier. It fits even though we pictured a joint gathering: borrowing can cross a tribal boundary without bringing everyone together.

  • C

Politics isn't enough. These grievances concern one tribe, and no other tribe's participation is mentioned. This could just be internal tribal political activity.

  • D

Assimilation into Euroamerican society isn't exchange among Native American tribes. The sociologists predict that one will eventually lead to the other, but that doesn't make them the same phenomenon.

  • E

Travel within a reservation doesn't establish contact with another tribe. The earlier example was travel and communication “between reservations”; E leaves out the cross-tribal connection we need.
