Most of what has been written about Thurgood(466 more words not shown)

Which one of the following(14 more words not shown)

Reading the passage

The first sentence introduces Marshall and tells us what people have focused on: his judicial record and his earlier civil rights goals. Saying commentary has “just focused” on these points prepares us for something it has left out. That doesn't mean the existing accounts are factually wrong.

Working the answers

  • A

No accepted claim is disputed in that sentence.

  • B

It introduces the subject, but doesn't say his ideologies were controversial. The later criticism concerns a litigation tactic.

  • C

Two aspects of his career are named, but their historical significance isn't outlined. The sentence tells us what has received attention.

  • D
    Correct

It identifies the achievements already emphasized and suggests that commentary has neglected something else. The next sentence supplies that missing focus: his strategic and methodological legacy.

  • E

An incomplete focus isn't a historical inaccuracy. The new perspective develops after this opening sentence.
