Which one of the following(9 more words not shown)

Reading the passage

We've already predicted that better technology and preserved artifacts are helping us understand ancient clothing production. The final paragraph adds the value of reconstructing how the cloth was made. We want an answer that gathers those approaches into the larger point: learning a great deal from limited evidence.

Working the answers

  • A

This makes the whole discipline of archaeology the subject and adds a response to increasing interest in women's history. We aren't given that explanation for the field's changes. The focus is how several approaches help with ancient textiles.

  • B
    Correct

The “diversity of new approaches” includes analysis, preservation, and reconstruction. Together they allow researchers to learn about textiles and their makers despite the scant evidence. B covers the full discussion rather than only one technique.

  • C

Replicating equipment and techniques is one advance, but it serves a larger goal: understanding the ancient production of textiles. C makes that single method the endpoint and leaves out the other approaches.

  • D

This reverses the relationship. Advances in archaeology help the study of textiles; textile research isn't said to have caused those sweeping changes in archaeology.

  • E

No method is ranked as producing most of the significant findings. The approaches work together to improve our understanding. E turns that combined contribution into a comparison the author never makes.
