The Future Lawyer Promise Terms & Conditions

Version 4.0

Effective Date: July 23, 2026

Overview

The Future Lawyer Promise is Hey Future Lawyer's guarantee program designed to support your LSAT preparation journey. This document outlines the terms and conditions of the guarantee.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for The Future Lawyer Promise guarantee, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

1. Plan Requirement

  • You must be enrolled in the Elite Live plan
  • The Future Lawyer Promise is not available on Jumpstart, Foundations Self-Study, or any other plan

2. Enrollment Duration

  • Be continuously enrolled in an HFL paid plan for at least 6 consecutive months
  • No gaps in subscription during the 6-month period

3. Weekly Engagement

  • Submit at least 1 question through the Ask feature on the HFL platform every week for all 26 weeks of the enrollment period
  • Questions submitted via email, support channels, or any method outside the platform's Ask feature do not count
  • Missing even one week permanently disqualifies you from the guarantee

4. Question Volume & Quality

  • Complete at least 3,000 unique LSAT questions during your enrollment period (maximum 50 counted per day toward the 3,000-question total)
  • Of the questions you complete, at least:
    • 1,200 must be Logical Reasoning (LR) questions, and
    • 900 must be Reading Comprehension (RC) questions
  • The remaining 900 questions may come from either section
  • Section minimums are counted per unique question answered and are not subject to the 50-per-day cap; the 50-per-day cap applies only to the 3,000-question total
  • Must also meet EITHER:
    • At least 85% overall accuracy across all questions answered, OR
    • Average time of at least 3 minutes per question across all questions answered

5. Daily Activity Rate

  • Maintain at least a 90% daily activity rate during the enrollment period
  • A "day of activity" is defined as a day on which you log in to the platform AND complete at least 5 practice questions
  • Daily activity rate is calculated as: (active days) / (total days enrolled)

6. Class Attendance

  • Attend at least 40 live Zoom classes during the enrollment period
  • Attendance requires remaining in the live Zoom session for at least 80% of the scheduled session duration, as verified by Zoom participation records
  • Alternatively, watching the class recording within 48 hours of the session end time also counts

7. Baseline Score

  • Your first completed full practice test taken under timed conditions within the HFL platform will be used as your baseline score
  • The baseline must be designated within the first month of enrollment
  • Once designated and locked upon guarantee activation, baseline cannot be changed

8. Final Score

  • Submit an official LSAT score taken after your 6-month enrollment period
  • Final score must be from an LSAC-administered official LSAT
  • You must upload your official LSAC score report through the guarantee dashboard for verification
  • The lowest verified official LSAT score will be used as your final score
  • Score thresholds depend on your number of official LSAT attempts:
    • 3 or more official attempts: Achieve a score of 165 or higher, OR improve by at least 15 points from your baseline score
    • Fewer than 3 official attempts: Achieve a score of 161 or higher, OR improve by at least 11 points from your baseline score

9. Why We Require Multiple Official Attempts

LSAT scores naturally fluctuate. Even fully prepared students can see swings of several points between tests. This means a student performing at a 165 level may receive a slightly lower score on a single attempt.

Requiring multiple official tests:

  • Reduces the impact of score variance
  • Increases the likelihood of capturing peak performance
  • Gives students a fair shot at their true ability

This requirement protects your upside. It is designed to help you secure your highest possible score. You do not need to remain enrolled between attempts.

10. Terms Acceptance

  • Accept and agree to these terms and conditions
  • Guarantee must be actively enabled on your account

Definitions

For clarity, the following operational definitions apply throughout these terms:

  • Day of Activity: A calendar day on which you log in to the HFL platform AND complete at least 5 practice questions.
  • Ask Feature Question: A question submitted through the Ask feature within the HFL platform. Questions sent via email, live chat, or any other channel do not qualify.
  • Class Attendance: Participation in a live Zoom class for at least 80% of the scheduled session duration, as recorded by Zoom. Alternatively, watching the full recording within 48 hours of the session end time.
  • Quality Question: A question that counts toward the quality standard. Quality is measured across all questions answered: at least 85% overall accuracy OR an average response time of at least 3 minutes per question.
  • Baseline Score: The scaled score from your first completed full practice test on the HFL platform, permanently locked upon guarantee activation.
  • Final Score: The lowest verified official LSAT score from an LSAC-administered exam, submitted via uploaded LSAC score report after the 6-month enrollment period.
  • Unique LSAT Question: A distinct LSAT question identified by its unique question ID in the HFL system. Each question ID may only be counted once toward the 3,000-question minimum, regardless of how many times it is answered. Re-attempts of a previously completed question do not count toward the total, though they are tracked for accuracy and timing purposes. Questions from official LSAC PrepTests, LSAC LawHub, and HFL's proprietary question bank are all eligible, provided they are completed within the HFL platform.
  • Section Minimum: The required number of unique questions completed within a specific LSAT section type (Logical Reasoning or Reading Comprehension). A question counts toward a section minimum based on its section classification in the HFL system, the first time it is answered.
  • Continuous Enrollment: Uninterrupted active subscription to a paid HFL plan for the full 6-month (180-day) enrollment period. A subscription is considered continuous if there is no gap in paid coverage between billing cycles. Any lapse in payment, voluntary cancellation, or downgrade to a free plan — regardless of duration — breaks continuity and permanently disqualifies you from the guarantee for that enrollment period. Subscription pauses initiated by HFL (e.g., due to a billing system error on HFL's part) will not count as gaps, provided the pause is documented and corrected within 5 business days.

Guarantee Benefits

If you meet all eligibility requirements but do not achieve the required final score improvement:

  • Refund Option: Receive a full refund of all subscription fees paid during your 6-month enrollment period
  • Extended Study Option: Receive 6 additional months of free access to continue studying

You may choose ONE of the above options. The choice is final and cannot be changed once selected.

Determination Process

  1. Upon submitting your final LSAT score, the system will automatically evaluate your eligibility
  2. An HFL administrator will review your determination
  3. You will be notified via email of the admin's decision
  4. If approved, you will select your preferred option (refund or extended study)
  5. Refunds will be processed within 30 business days of approval

Important Notes

  • All criteria must be met - missing even one requirement disqualifies you from the guarantee
  • Admin review is final and binding
  • False or fraudulent information will result in immediate disqualification
  • HFL reserves the right to modify these terms for future versions (your accepted version remains in effect)
  • Questions about eligibility should be directed to HFL support

Data Collection & Privacy

By accepting this guarantee, you consent to HFL collecting and analyzing your:

  • Question completion data (timestamps, answers, correctness, response times)

  • Class attendance records (Zoom participation duration, recording completion)
  • Ask feature submissions (timestamps, content)
  • Official LSAT scores and test dates (via uploaded LSAC score reports)
  • IP address (for fraud prevention)

This data is used solely for guarantee eligibility verification and program improvement.
